This is the year of the oversized tote and hobo bag.  These unique hand crafted felted knit natural wool bags, purses and totes are available in colors and sizes to meet all your wants and needs.  Each bag is individually crafted to be eye-catching as well as useful.  They are strong, roomy and can be special ordered to meet your every need.

Why Felted Knit?

Felting or fulling has existed for centuries. How felting occurs: animal hair (yarn) is covered with microscopic scales.  It kind of looks like a rod covered with fish scales or the bark of a tree. Moisture and heat cause the scales to soften and raise slightly. When exposed to friction or pressure these scales lock together. The more friction or pressure the tighter they lock together. The end product is a thick, dense matted fabric, Felt!!! 

This fabric is stronger than the original yarn and will not come undone like knitting.  The felted material retains the natural water shedding characteristic of natural wool.  Because felting is an art not a science every creation is unique, no two bags or purses will be exactly the same.
